A linear actuator is a device that causes an attached mechanical component (usually a rod) to produce linear motion. Linear motion is performed by a built-in motor

Linear actuators typically use a DC (DC) brushed or brushless motor and a DC power supply, such as 12vdc or 24VDC. However, a DC motor is not required.
Stepper motors and induction motors can also move linear actuators, depending on the load and application. By reversing the power terminal, the direction of
motion of the actuator can be easily reversed.

The linear actuator contains sensors at both the smallest and largest ends to detect rod movement at both ends and, if needed, to stop further movement to prevent
damage to the internal components. Linear actuators are not fast, but can provide significant power. For this reason, linear actuators are used in applications that
require motion on weighted objects. Some linear actuators also include feedback signals indicating that their limits have been reached.
When there is no current, the linear rod cannot be moved to the initial position. Instead, it requires a DC voltage of opposite polarity to move the rod back to its initial position.The generator's electronic actuators are designed to provide fast, precise throttle control and replace the engine's mechanical throttle.
The electronic actuator is an integral part of the electronic control system, along with the electronic engine governor and the magnetic pickup sensor.
The load response of the engine and generator set will be improved. This is because the actuator responds 200 times faster than the mechanical throttle.

Fuel economy will also be improved because electric actuators are linear actuators; They can be moved anywhere between fully open and fully closed.
If you need 50% power, they'll open the throttle 50%. Mechanical throttle can only be opened or closed. For applications that use variable speed,
such as pumps or compressors,this is not necessary. They don't need to run at full speed all the time.
